Diabetes and Tobacco Use - Take Action for Cessation

The epidemic of type 2 diabetes continues to rise at an alarming rate while tobacco use continues to be the leading preventable cause of death in the United States annually. Diabetes and tobacco use have a complex relationship as tobacco exposure may increase the risk for type 2 diabetes, tobacco use aggravates diabetes control, and has a multiplicative effect on diabetes complications. This webinar will provide participants with a brief description of the relationship of tobacco use and diabetes, information to justify the need for tobacco cessation intervention and offer resources for referral and education. NOTE - Only the first 100 registrants will be able to join the live SOPHE webinar.
