SOPHE Committees work through member involvement.

Advocacy Committee
To identify priority health issues related to health education and advocate for funding and science-based policies.

Annual Meeting Planning Committee
To plan, implement and evaluate the program of the SOPHE Annual Meeting, addressing CE needs of SOPHE members and in concert with fiscal objectives of the organization

Awards Committee
To recognize and promote excellence in health education research, practice and programs.
Contact: Darcell Scharff, Chair

Board of Trustees
To manage the affairs of the organization to include responsibilitiy for financial and personal policies and the creation of temporary and special committees as may be necessary to accomplish the purpose of the Society.

Bylaws
To annually review bylaws and prepare any changes recommended by the Board of Trustees for a vote of the SOPHE membership.

Commnities Putting Prevention to Work
To develop and further Tobacco Control Policy.

Communications Committee
To support and encourage communication between and among SOPHE members, chapters and the general public to pursue SOPHE's mission and Strategic Plan. To develop and maintain a strong SOPHE presence to reflect upon and further the work of the organization, utilizing Internet/electronic technology as appropriate.

Communities of Practice Chair & Co Chairs
This section allows Chair and Co Chairs of SOPHE's Communities of Practice (CoP) to dialouge and and compile resources and information pertinent to their role as chair.

Continuing Education Committee
To coordinate SOPHE's status as a multiple event provider of continuing education contact hours and to propose SOPHE policies and procedures for CE and to distance learning.

Ethics Committee
To facilitate responsible ethical pursuit by heatlh educators of their profession.

Executive Committee
This committee is comprised of the officers to act in the best interest of the Society and its membership on issues where time is of the essence.

Finance Committee
To develop and oversee the SOPHE annual operating budget and investments and to appoint an audit committee.

Health Promotion Policy Experts
SOPHE's State Health Policy Institute Graduates.

House of Delegates
To represent and support the interest of chapters.

House of Delegates
To represent and support the interest of chapters.

Membership Committee
To develop and evaluate programs and strategies related to recruitment and retention of SOPHE members and to make recommendations on SOPHE membership benefits.

Midyear Conference Planning Committee
To plan, implement and evaluate the program for the SOPHE Midyear Scientific Conference, meeting continuing educaion needs of SOPHE members and in concert with fiscal objectives of the organization.

News and Views Editorial Board
To publish a regular newsletter that keeps members informed of association news as well as developments in the health education field such as meetings, resources, advocacy opportunities and other items.

Nominating Leadership Development Committee
To nominate SOPHE members for office according to the SOPHE bylaws and to coordinate leadership development.

Past Presidents' Council
To provide a forum for the continued involvement and advisement of SOPHE past presidents in the Society.

President's Task Force on Chapters-Implementation
Examine feasibility of the recommendations of the Report of the President's Task Force on the Status of SOPHE Chapters and report to the Board of Trustees.

Professional Development Committee
To address the continuing education needs of SOPHE members and to identifiy and help secure related funding.

Professional Preparation Committee
To provide direction on issues related to professional preparation in health education at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Publications Committee
To develop and maintain procedures for exploring, acquiring, developing, and disseminating publications to support members, the organization, and the field of public health education.

Research Agenda Committee
To identify research needs relevant to health education, create awareness of needs among researchers and practitioners, and foster linkages between health education research and practice.

Resolutions Committee
To review resolutions proposed by the SOPHE membership and refer them to the Board of Trustees for consideration and monitor completion of action steps of approved resolutions.

Resource Development
To develop and implement a plan to ensure the long-term financial stability and growth of the organization, consistent with its mission and strategic plan.

SABPAC
A conjoint committee of SOPHE and AAHE, this committee shall develop an approval process for credentialing undergraduate programs that prepare professional health education specialists.

Strategic Planning Committee
To develop a strategic plan for the organization based on sound, strategic planning principles; to oversee its implementation and periodic update/revision; and to monitor/track progress.

Transition Task Force on Accreditation
Provide leadership to the field in tracking and understanding national and international trends towards accreditation, certification, credentialing - and their implications for the heatlh education profession.
